Padron 3000 Maduro

Here is another blind review I did of a relatively cheap and affordable cigar, the Padron 3000 in the maduro wrapper version.

Initial Impressions: This was another toro sized cigar with a pretty thick ring gauge, I'm guessing 52. The wrapper was a nice dark natural color and was smooth and had a light oily sheen, no blemishes. The cap seemed to be applied somewhat roughly. A mild pre-light aroma came off of this cigar.

Smoking: Very nice draw with a good volume of smoke, never plugged. Very nice even burn as it burned cool and slow, no over heating. The wrapper behaved well once again until the last two inches when it started to unravel a bit. The only issue I had with the construction was that the ash, which was white to light gray was somewhat flaky. Otherwise, perfect construction on this cigar.

Taste:Very smooth medium-full bodied cigar that never turned harsh. It started out with a medium tobacco flavor that was very "woody". The finish was pleasant and stayed on the palate for a long time. The cigar retained the same taste for about 3-4 inches. After that point the taste became a lot more full and I could get a lot of deep sweetness out of it and a somewhat "earthy" taste and the finish became very full and sweet as well. Very nice aroma came off of this cigar while smoking.

Conclusion:This was another solid smoking experience. Very good construction and a very good taste. The only knock would be that the taste was a little too simple/straight-forward, but I still enjoyed it. I would rate this cigar a solid 4 on the previous scale, a good smoking experience overall.
