Tatuaje Noellas

Another blind review here. This happens to be a cigar that I have lots of experience with for once! Another one blended by the great Don Pepin Garcia. The pictures are from a different date than the review.

Initial Impressions:This was a petit corona sized cigar. It had a dark natural wrapper, not as pretty as the last one though. The wrapper was fairly smooth with some tiny bumps, but had no big veins or blemishes. The wrapper also had a light oily sheen and the cigar itself was firm to the touch, no soft spots. A mild pre-light aroma came from this cigar before lighting.

Smoking: Perfect draw. I can't explain it any better, it wasn't too loose or too tight(insert dirty joke here), it was just spot on. The ash was very white and firm and stayed on for over two inches before ashing. The burn was razor sharp the whole way through and the cigar burned cool and slow even down towards the end. The wrapper behaved well and did not crack or unravel. Perfect Construction.

Taste: This was a medium-full bodied cigar that was 100% smooth all the way down to the nub. It began with some spiciness and a pleasant tobacco flavor I could describe as 'earthy' with a subtle hint of spice. The finish for the first half was also very spicy. I could also get a lot of a 'cognac' like taste in the first half of this cigar. After the first ashing the cigar took on another dimension. I could get a lot of 'cocoa' like taste and a floral taste as well, the spice had died down substantially. The finish was full and pleasant and stayed on the palate for a long time. The last 2 inches of the cigar had a lot of complexity in it as well and it stayed very pleasant even down to the nub. A very sweet and full aroma came off of this cigar while smoking.

Conclusion: This was an excellent cigar with perfect construction and great taste, with great complexity to match. There was no point during the smoke where I didn't enjoy it. Based on the previous scale I would give this cigar a solid 5, or excellent. My best guess based on the marca, stark white ash and taste would be a Tatuaje Noellas, but I hope I'm wrong and it was something cheap.
