La Aurora 1495 Churchill

Another blind taste test cigar here. While this cigar can get a little expensive, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the corona version of the Aurora 1495, it is an excellent cigar that you can get for between $5-$7 dollars in most tobacco shops.

Pre-Smoke:This was a churchill sized cigar it seemed. It had a somewhat dark natural wrapper that looked a little rough, not completely smooth. The cigar was firm to the touch, no soft spots. No pre-light aroma came off of this cigar.

Smoking: This cigar had an excellent draw from start to finish with a great volume of smoke. The burn was even the whole way through, no touch ups required. The cigar never burned too fast or too hot, no overheating. The ash was firm and white with some marbeling and came off when I ashed. The wrapper behaved well and did not crack or unravel while smoking. Excellent construction!

Taste: This was a heavier medium bodied cigar that was very smooth from beginning to end, no harshness. The flavor started out with a very heavy sort of 'chocolate' or 'cocoa' like taste that was very pleasant. This was the predominant flavor for well over half the cigar, but I could also pick up a very strong sort of 'floral' flavor and some sweetness, this cigar had no spice or bite to it at all. The finish was pleasant and had a dull sweetness to it and stayed on the palate for a long time. In the second half of the cigar, it seemed that the floral taste became more dominant and the cocoa-like flavor took the backseat. A pleasant mild aroma came off of this cigar while smoking.

Conclusion: Yesterday was a stressful day and this cigar hit the right spot, so thanks for that from the start Chris. As far as the cigar goes, it had perfect construction and a very enjoyable taste. I don't have the most experience with churchill sized smokes. I usually prefer something in a thinner RG and sometimes robustos, but this churchill was excellent. There was never a point in the smoke where I didn't enjoy it. Based on the previous scale, I would give this cigar a 5, or excellent
